This is such a tragic story, but thank you for opening up and sharing your soul. It sounds like you feel responsible for all the awful things that happened, but it is definitely NOT your fault. In reality, you were the one person who supported her. It's lovely to hear that you're expecting and you will be an amazing dad.

What a tragic story. Responding to trauma this way. Where is the gatekeeping needed to prevent this? These stories need to be told. We should be looking for ways to help people have the best mental health outcome. Just giving them what they want at the time is not doing this!

Thank you for telling your story. You are helping other women and girls who might fall into the same trap. It is *much* appreciated.

This is such a beautiful and tragic story of a beautiful young woman, and also her tragic brother. This shows that the so called healthcare professionals, doctors, don’t always follow their own rules. They are claiming in official documents how they screen their patients (or their clients as they are often called nowadays) for various issues that have to be taken care of first, before medically transitioning. In this case they just ignored several serious issues, such as depression and eating disorder. This also shows that parents don’t always know what is happening with their children, this can sometimes lead to burdens on the siblings. I want the brother to know that what happened is not his fault he should not be made to feel responsible! Please try to forgive yourself, Lucia Joy is a beautiful name!!
